Monday 23rd March -
Here is your first ever home learning activity. This week our theme is 'Space'.
Today, please complete the Literacy activity and then choose 2 activities to complete from the other box.

Helpful Hints - Encourage your child to use the story language and actions for each box. |
If you can, show your child where you live on Google Maps.
Make a rocket using construction.
Involve your child in agreeing the rules and routines of your time off. |

Learning objective - To write simple sentences.
Activity – To use the astronaut paper to write the story you planned yesterday.
Helpful Hints - Encourage your child to sound out and blend the words together. Allow your child to write the story themselves. Remind them about their finger spaces and full stops. |

Learning Objective – To count objects to 10, and begin to count objects beyond 10.
Activity - Provide collections of interesting things for children to sort, order, count play.
Helpful Hints – You can use any objects around your house, they do not have to be mathematical. Encourage your child to use the rules of careful counting. Challenge your child to estimate the number of objects before counting, use the language one more and one less.

Use the ‘Space Cutting’ worksheet provided to practice your scissor skills.
Try playing some simple game, encourage sharing and turn taking.
Try using some toys or make some puppets and create your own story.

Learning Objective – To count objects which cannot be moved.
Activity – To use the ’Space I Spy and Count to 20’ sheet provided to count the different pictures. How many can you see of each? Challenge – Write the number of objects you count.
Helpful Hints – Encourage your child to use the rules of careful counting.
Challenge your child to estimate the number of objects before counting, use the language one more and one less.

Initiate conversations with your child, ask questions and demonstrate how to be a good listener.
Make a cardboard tube rocket using the instructions provided.
Set up an obstacle course to practise jumping over, crawling under and balancing.

Activity – To practise writing the first letter in your handwriting book.
Helpful Hints – Encourage your child to hold their pencil comfortably and effectively e.g using a tripod grasp (thumb and two fingers) |

Work together to build a fort or a den.
Watch the germ experiment. Perhaps you can create your own. |
