Term 4 Topic - Minibeasts

We will be looking at Minibeasts.

In English
We are looking at the books:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
Mad about Minibeasts

We will be continuing our Sounds write journey concentrating on reading and writing words with 4 or 5 sounds (CVCC e.g crab and CCVCC e.g plank). At the end of the term we will be learning some new sounds.

In Mathematics:
This term we will consolidate our counting skills. We are going to count to larger numbers and develop a wider range of counting strategies. We will secure our knowledge of number facts and we are going to explore the meaning of 1 more and 1 less up to 10. We will begin to look at the 10s frame and explore ways of making doubles and we will be comparing quantities and numbers. We will continue to subitise and begin to identify when counting is necessary. Once again we will be encouraged to use sentence stems when explaining our answers.
