On the run up to 100 years since the end of World War One, we will be delving into life during the 'Great War' in a topic named 'Lest We Forget'. We will be finding out about life for both soldiers on the front line and for civilians at home. During the term we will be receiving a visit from a 'WW1 soldier' to support our understanding of life in the trenches. As well as the important role men played in the forces, we will also be exploring the equally important role women played in keeping Britain running and finding out about the changing views of women through learning about the suffragette movement. Take a look at our topic web to find out how our topic links to the different areas of learning.
Our day in the trenches!
On 21st September we had a visit from a local historian. 'Tommy' was able to teach us a great deal about life in the trenches and we really enjoyed our day which was full of hands-on activities.
