Swift
The WWF disco was a great success. The children had great fun and raised lots of money for a good cause!
Well done Swift Class!
Term 5 - Conservation
Welcome back! This term the children are learning about conservation, especially endangered animals. They have organised a disco to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund which will be happening on Thursday 19th May. They are extremely excited about this! There will be refreshments, party dances and lots of fun to be had by all.
This term has also seen us take part in Art Week where an artist in residence worked with the children to make banners to be displayed in the hall. The results are superb!
During the last week of term, will see us taking part in Science Week. there will be more information to follow on this.
As always, if you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact either Mrs Hurrell and Mrs Charlwood.

Christmas crafts
Welcome back to one of the busiest terms of the year!
Already this term we have been on a fantastic trip to the Odeon Cinema to watch Shaun the Sheep. The children were wonderfully behaved and had a great time. We will now use our experience to create short animations around the theme of our topic which is...... Hiemaey! In addition to this we will be looking at geographical features of the island as well as what it is like to live there and how this differs to living in England.
The other trips we have planned are of course Braeside with the Year 4's which will be between the 18th - 20th November and the pantomime trip in December.
As we head towards Christmas there will also be the Christmas Fayre as well as many other fun activities.

Making Dragons

Welcome to Swift class!
We have many events and activities to look forward to this term. Already we've had the highly successful Dragon Day where the children hunted for dragon eggs, completed an assault course and made miniature dragons. We also have a poet visiting Year 3/4 on the 30th September as well as making Chinese dragons and creating a whole class patchwork blanket.
As you are aware there are two teachers in Swift class, Mrs Hurrell and Mrs Charlwood and our classroom Teaching Assistant is Mrs Ireland. If you would like to speak to either of us we operate an open door policy, the end of the day is the best time for this unless there is an immediate issue we need to be aware of.
We look forward to working with you this year.
