Robin

Welcome to Robin Class!

We are one of the Reception classes in the school and we are 4 and 5 year olds.  Our teachers are Mrs Brooks (Monday-Wednesday) and Mrs Hughes (Thursday-Friday) and our teaching assistant is Miss Rawson.
Term 6 - Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!

Look at our fantastic writing! We wrote sentences about what we could see hiding in the jar.

We have been learning about 3d shapes.

We had a lovely day out at Bath City Farm. We got to meet lots of animals and we fed the chickens and goats. We went pond dipping and bug hunting. It was lots of fun (and the rain stayed away for most of the day!!)
Term 5 - Dinosaur Stomp!

This term we are learning all about dinosaurs , we started the topic off by going on a dinosaur hunt around the school to help Harry find his missing dinosaurs! It was lots of fun, we found one hiding up a tree!! We are going to be dancing like dinosaurs and storytelling with actions. We are going to end the topic with a dinosaur party!

We are looking for dinosaurs!

Term 4 - Spring Watch

Welcome back to term 4. We are hoping for lots of lovely weather this term as we look out for the signs of Spring. We are going to become little Spring detectives and find out about the changes in the weather, life cycles of animals, what life is like on a farm and learn how to grow plants.

Paxfactor is almost here! Paxfactor is our very own talent show that will take place at the end of the term. It is open to everyone and the talents vary from telling jokes to singing and in the past there’s even been some hula hooping! The children share their talents with their peers and the finalist perform on stage in front of the whole school. We are very excited!

Term 3 - Food from around the world

Welcome back to term 3.  We hope you all had a lovely festive break.

This term our topic is based around food.  We will be looking at why food is important, healthy and unhealthy foods and taking a whirl wind food tour of the world.  We will be visiting Italy, India, China and Poland, identifying famous landmarks, the countries flags, listening to music from the country and tasting foods.  Our role play is a café and the theme will change for each country that we visit.

We look forward to your continued support.

Term 2 - The Owl Who Was Afraid Of The Dark

This term we have a very busy festive season ahead of us! Our topic is all about night time. The term will start  with learning about the festival Diwali and talking about how we and others celebrate special occasions.  We will move on with a bang as we learn about the meaning of Bonfire Night, staying safe and creating some lovely firework pictures. We will then focus on what happens at night time, nocturnal animals and base a lot of our work around the story 'The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark'.

Christmas will arrive in the classroom in December! Our role play will become Santa’s Workshop where we will be able to wrap up gifts, write lists and make cards. We will be writing and posting our letters to Santa and we will be busy making cards and Christmas crafts.

We are all looking forward to a term filled with sparkles and smiles!

Term 1 - People who help us

The first term at school is an important one. It is a term for familiarisation, getting to grips with some of the basic school routines and working on building friendships. We are going to have lots of fun getting to know each other and learning all about our school.

Along with learning about school life we are going to be looking at ‘People who help us’. We will be looking at those who are here to help us at school and those who help us out in the community such as; police officers, fire fighters and nurses. We might even get to meet a police officer and perhaps have a ride in a fire engine!

We are looking forward to a busy and exciting first term smiley
