periscopes,

trenches (models of!)

and finally, tanks(including the awesome anti-war pink tank!)

The Osprey website team took pictures of these wonderful models to show to you!

Week ending 11th July

Well done to all year 5s and 6s for their phenomenal production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat". You all wowed the audiences. Great singing and acting from you all.

A selection of the work we have done on The Great War for the Trowbridge Schools Project has now been collected and is on display at St James' Parish Church. The Mayor will be viewing the displays and making a selection to be included in a Civic Service on August 3rd. If any of our work is selected the Mayor's office will write to inform us. All are very welcome to attend the civic service at St James. This will take place on 3rd August 2014 ( the eve of the outbreak of  war) at 6.30 pm.

Happy Holidays Everyone!  Make sure you make the most of our great local free resources:

Ospreys, make sure you pop down to Trowbridge or Bradford-on-Avon library and check out some of their latest "Recommend- a -reads".  The Wiltshire Library Service is a fantastic resource  and it is free to join. If you aren't already a member, then take action now!

Not sure what to read? Not sure who to move on to if you or your child likes a particular author? Again, our local libraries and librarians are a great source of support and inspiration. I am going to put a link to Wiltshire Libraries on this page: check out the section children aged 6-12 for more advice on favourite books. The" Current books our children's team like" is particularly good.

I wonder how many Ospreys will take up the library summer reading challenge? Evidence of completion will equal a merit!! (also proves you read the website!!)

Welcome to Ospreys!

Well done to all Ospreys! Mrs Cook, Mrs Jones and I continue  to be impressed by the enthusiasm with which the children approach their work.

Do you have any ideas for this page? Why not let one of the Osprey team  know!

Have you seen the Kids' Zone? Play games, and visit some cool websites. You can vote for your favourites!

Week  ending  March 14th

This week year 5/6 children have  continued to enjoy Shakespeare's "The Tempest", exploring the characters of Prospero, Miranda, Caliban and Ariel. The children have produced some fantastic work :  descriptive writing, describing the magical setting of the Island Paradise, rewriting Ariel's soliloquy "Where the bee sucks, there suck I" and diary entries from Caliban's point of view. See  some of this work by  clicking on the PDFs below. Well done, Ospreys!

Lulworth Visit

Swift Dispatch !

The three year 5/6 classes had great fun designing, creating and evaluating our guillotines as a finale to our Crime and Punishment topic. It was lovely seeing children practising DT and maths skills.
