Apologies if the earlier email has not yet arrived but it would appear that traffic on school email services is particularly high this evening.
We have now had confirmation that, with effect from tomorrow, schools will be open only to the children of key workers and certain other children who are identified as being particularly vulnerable. This is exceptionally short notice for us to ensure that we have sufficient levels of staffing in place and to confirm which children we will have in school. Therefore, for tomorrow (Tuesday 5th Jan) we will only be open for children of key workers who were in school during the first lockdown. Children in reception who's parents are key workers will be able to attend tomorrow also. However, all parents will be required to retrospectively apply for a key worker place, as circumstances may well have changed. Similarly, anyone who now believes they may qualify for a key worker place will be able to apply for one.
An application form will be circulated early tomorrow for this purpose.
We will make individual contact with other families who may be eligible for a place for their child in due course.
As an additional safety measure, please could any adult that enters the school site from tomorrow wear a face covering at all times.
Once again, we appreciate your co-operation, flexibility and patience during these difficult times. I am confident that the Paxcroft community will pull together and adjust to the new restrictions that have been put in place to keep us all safe and healthy.
