School Business Manager

Contract status: permanent

Start date: March 2023

 

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and professional individual to join us as a School Business Manager. This role sits within the school’s Senior Management Team, providing strategic leadership of the school’s support function. The successful candidate will be responsible to the Headteacher and the Governing Body. They will manage all of the school’s support functions including Finance, Human Resources, Premises and Health & Safety. The School Business Manager will lead a team of staff including the school Site Management, Catering, Cleaning, Finance and Administration teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a the right candidate to contribute significantly to the future direction and leadership of our friendly, nurturing primary school.

 

Role information:

Hours of work: 37 hours per week. Mon-Fri, 8.30-4.30pm.

Salary: Grade I, SCP 18-20 (£30,151-£32,020 per annum, pro rata)

Working pattern: term time + 2 weeks (41 weeks per year plus paid holiday)

Contract type: permanent

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant experience of managerial and financial duties at a strategic level
  • The ability to work systematically and strategically.  You must be confident and able to manage your own workload in order to meet deadlines
  • A candidate with an operational management background, significant team management experience and competent in the areas of finance, HR, business administration including marketing, supplier management, IT and procurement.
  • You will also possess, or be able to develop, a good understanding of premises, HR, and Health & Safety management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Someone who is IT literate and proficient in the use of all Office 365 programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint)
  • Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, friendly, and approachable to all staff, pupils, governors, visitors and suppliers
  • Having or working towards a qualification in School Business Management, or an equivalent qualification would be an advantage. A relevant finance/accountancy qualification (e.g AAT) would also be ideal but is not essential
  • A creative, flexible and positive approach to problem-solving

 

The successful candidate will be able to deal with the multiple aspects of the role and wider school life in a professional, calm, methodical manner. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has existing experience in a School Leadership/School Business Management role. However, if you are energetic, have excellent leadership and management experience, an ability to deliver an excellent standard of work under pressure and are passionate about taking on a role that contributes to creating a safe, happy and effective learning environment for our pupils, then we would welcome your application.

Midday Supervisory Assistants (x3 vacancies)

Contract status: permanent

Start date: ASAP

 

We are seeking Midday Supervisory Assistants to join our friendly school team. The role involves a mixture of supervision of children in the lunch hall and encouraging happy, positive play on the playgrounds (and occasionally in classrooms if it is too wet for outside play.)

 

Some of our current MDSAs cover all 5 days each week but we are happy to consider candidates that can work 2 or 3 lunchtimes per week on a job share basis.

 

Role information:

Hours of work: 5 hours per week. Mon-Fri, 12.15pm-1.15pm (job share possible).

Salary: Grade B, SCP 1-2 (£10.50-10.60 per hour)

Working pattern: term time (38 weeks per year plus paid holiday)

Contract type: permanent

Interview date: TBC

Commencement date: January/February 2023

 

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate that they will be able to:

  • Manage behaviour in a positive and constructive manner, in accordance with the school behaviour policy
  • Communicate clearly with other school staff
  • Respond to a situation involving first aid in accordance with school policy
  • Be aware of Health and Safety issues relating to the school premises
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with school policy
