Having a Hoot!
The first term at school is an important one. It is a term for familiarisation, getting to grips with some of the basic school routines and working on building friendships. We are going to have lots of fun getting to know each other and learning all about our school.
Alongside getting to know our school we are going to be looking at the story of ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. We will discuss the setting, the characters and how the characters are feeling. We will be creating lots of owl based art work - paper plate owls, chalk drawings and owl masks, to name just a few! We will sequence pictures of the story and, using the owl masks, retell the story. We will explore the differences between day and night and find out some facts about owls.
We are looking forward to a busy and exciting first term
