Term 5 topic - Traditional Tales

We will be reading lots of Traditional tales.
 
In English
We are focusing on:

The Gingerbread Man

We will be identifying the beginning, middle and end of the story and having a go at writing it. We will also be adapting the story to create our own versions.

We will be continuing our Sounds Write journey learning more sounds made with 2 letters and consolidating our segmenting and blending skills.
 
In Mathematics:

This term we will consolidate our counting skills. We are going to count to larger numbers and develop a wider range of counting strategies. We will secure our knowledge of number facts and we are going to explore the meaning of 1 more and 1 less up to 10. We will begin to look at the 10s frame and explore ways of making doubles and we will be comparing quantities and numbers.  We will continue to subitise and begin to identify when counting is necessary. Once again we will be encouraged to use sentence stems when explaining our answers.
