Reception Class Teacher
Join our dynamic team at Paxcroft Primary School in Trowbridge as we seek a passionate Reception class teacher to be a part of our collaborative and dedicated staff. We have recently transformed our Reception environment and enhancing our outdoor spaces. We now operate as one unit of 45 children with two Reception teachers working alongside each other, supported by two Teaching Assistants, in a stimulating open-plan setting. Each teacher has key children for whom they hold parents’ evening, report writing and SEND management responsibility, and teaching commitments in the classroom are shared.

The ideal candidate will:
- Have a strong Early Years philosophy and understand how young children learn
- Demonstrate experience of teaching the Early Years curriculum and the assessment requirements
- Be a motivated and inspiring teacher who is prepared to go ‘the extra mile’ to ensure children have exciting and engaging learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom
- Be passionate about securing excellent outcomes for all children
- Create an inspiring and purposeful learning environment
- Encourage children to show initiative, take risks with their learning and challenge themselves
- Have high expectations of themselves and the children
- Have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working as part of a team
- Have a 'can do' attitude and a sense of humour
- Be a resilient and reflective practitioner who is keen to develop professionally to provide our Early Years children with the best possible start
