Welcome to Owls Class page. We are the reception unit and our teachers are Miss Stephens and Miss Butterfield. Our intervention teacher is Miss Hoskins and our teaching assistants are Miss Bonfield and Miss Kellow.
Miss Butterfield will have her planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time on a Wednesday morning and Miss Stephens will have hers on a Thursday morning.
PE
The children will have PE on a Tuesday afternoon at the moment but this could be subject to change so children should have their PE kit in school all week. The school PE kit is black joggers or shorts, a Plain T-shirt that is their school team colour (earth - green, fire - red, wind - yellow, water - blue) and their Paxcroft school jumper or a Paxcroft hoodie if needed due to the weather.
Home Learning
It is still essential that once you have started receiving books, phonemes and keys words that the children are completing home learning tasks in order to consolidate their learning. As well as the Sounds-Write phoneme cards we will be sending home a 2 weekly fine motor skills activity to help build up the muscles to prepare for writing. This term, we are also sending out some optional home learning challenges for the children to further their engagement with our topic. Children can pick one or two activities and there will be an opportunity to bring in and share towards the end of the term.
