Housemartin

Welcome to Housemartin Class!

We are a mixed Year 3 and 4 pupils class with lots of energy, curiosity and excitement for our learning.

Our class teacher is Miss Parkes and our class teaching assistant is Mrs Gunning. Mrs Evans will be covering Tuesday morning during planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time. Mrs Farnell, our specialist music teacher, will also teach us music on a Tuesday afternoon.

PE

The children will have PE each Tuesday and Thursday. However, we encourage the children to bring their PE kits into school on a Monday and to then take them home on a Friday. The school PE kit is black joggers or shorts, a Plain T-shirt that is their school team colour (Earth - green, Fire - red, Wind - yellow, Water - blue) and their Paxcroft school jumper.

Home Learning

The children all have individual spelling lists to learn each week. They will be tested on Thursdays and then these will be sent home every Friday. We would appreciate you helping children engage in their home learning and being prepared by practising at home. We are very eager for our children to develop a real appetite for reading and would love for all our children to be Free Readers by the end of Year 4. If you could listen to your child read at home and make a note in their green reading record, this would help them on their way to becoming a Free Reader!  To help with their maths learning the children have Mathletics and TT Rockstars log ons. The children really enjoy playing these maths games, so any encouragement from home would be fantastic!

We want children to become independent, resilient and positive learners who radiate kindness and are always honest and respectful!

Supporting Your Child At Home

As well as reading with your child as much as possible, we really encourage you to visit the sites below to further support your child's development and learning at home. This will help to embed their understanding and create a positive and independent attitude towards their learning journey.

We are always really keen to hear from you so please do not hesitate to come and speak to us if you have any problems. Alternatively, please email the office admin@paxcroft.wilts.sch.uk
