Summer Term 1 2016
It seems hard to believe, but Summer Term is now officially here! The Term has got off to an interesting start as the children have been enjoying Art Week. All the children will have the opportunity to work with our Artist in Residence to create House banners. In addition, in class we have been taking Water as our main inspiration for our in class Art. So far we have been looking at A Greater Splash by Hockney and we will be going on to look at the work of Matisse. On Friday we plan to showcase our work in the school exhibition.
As this is an Olympic Year our topic for this term will be the Ancient Greeks.
Can I please remind all year 6 about their SATS revision booklets? There is still time to work on these and consolidate learning. Also, can I take this opportunity to remind children to make sure that their spelling folders are in school on Fridays?
Part of our spelling scheme involves learning the words from the statutory lists which can be found in the link below. Children will also have a copy of this and some tips on how to learn their spellings in their spelling folder.
Mrs A Sager, Mrs J Cook and Mrs K Jones.
